In an era out of time, a small rural region of an unknown country is the scene of a bloody purge orchestrated by a charismatic leader, a purge which claims the lives of a great many young people. In a farmhouse of this devastated region, a young man awakens with no memory of the past. An old woman sits at his bedside and nurses him back to health. She reveals to him that he is the sole survivor of the 'Bloodletting'. From then on, a strange relationship grows between this taciturn old woman and this man with no past.

Mirubin, the enigmatic masked, stands up against the inefficient justice. He dares to put up against the government, punishing pedophiles. It is a personal war. Does it make Mirubin a criminal? The journalist Amira is determined to uncover the truth behind the mask. The search leads her to doubt whether she is on the right side or not.

What do Patricia, Badou, François, Dingo and P'tit Jeannot have in common? They live in the Paris suburbs, they are young, they are on the verge of breaking away from school, from the working world or from the Army. Their meeting place is "La Javanaise", a bar held by no-nonsense Janine and her lighter husband Lucien. There they mix with their idol, Daniel, also known as Frankie Mégalo, a film projectionist and a rocker without a band. Most of the efforts of these born idlers will consist in finding a band and a venue for Frankie to perform and in laying hands on cash by means fair or foul to go to the Southern sun.
